Instruction for Use

Pharmaceutical Form

Buspar is released in pills containing 5 mg and 10 mg.

Buspirone Characteristics Substance

It has benzodiazepine receptor of anxiolytic structure. Buspirone hydrochloride is white crystalline powder. It is dissolved in water. The molecular weight is 422.0 mole.

Pharmacokinetics

busparAfter oral administration, buspirone is rapidly and completely absorbed in digestive tract, but because it is extensively metabolized (phase II), its systemic availability amount is up to 4%. Maximum plasma drug concentration is achieved in 60-80 minutes. Within boundaries of recommended doses buspirone is characterized by linear pharmacokinetics. Half-life in plasma is about 2-3 hours. Over 95% of active substance is bound to plasma proteins.

With continuous drug use pharmacological parameters are not changed (in this case there is no accumulation), their rejection in healthy elderly persons has been identified. After oral administration buspirone maximum concentration of PP-1 in plasma is also achieved in 60-90 minutes. Nevertheless, magnitude of this concentration is 7-8 times higher than in the same for buspirone. T1 / 2 from plasma PP-1 is increased by about 6 hours compared to buspirone. After repeated administration of therapeutic doses buspirone was found 13-fold excess of exposure to 1-PP in comparison with a similar compound.

The effect is gradually manifested after 7-14 days, and reaches a maximum after 4 weeks. Do not have any negative effect on psychomotor functions, it does not cause tolerance, physical or psychological dependence and withdrawal symptoms. It does not potentiate effect of alcohol.

Special Instructions and Precautions

Keep in mind that anxiety or tension associated with everyday stress usually do not require treatment with an anxiolytic. With caution it should be used in conjunction with antipsychotics, antidepressants, cardiac glycosides, antihypertensive, antidiabetic agents and oral contraceptives. In renal and liver failure mild to moderate liver cirrhosis designate smaller doses and under strict medical supervision. It should not be used in patients with epilepsy or history of instructions on tendency to seizures.

During the period of treatment alcohol should be excluded. Patients who abuse drugs or have in history of instructions for drug addiction during treatment requires careful monitoring to detect tolerance development or dependence caused by Buspar online. Controlled studies have shown that buspirone is not effective for long-term anxiety treatment (more than 3-4 weeks.). However, when used for several months there were revealed no adverse effects. If buspirone is used for a long time, its effectiveness should be checked at regular intervals.

The safety and effectiveness of buspirone in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years have not been established. There is no effect on driving a car or operating some machinery.

Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding

Generic Buspar is contraindicated during pregnancy. At the time of treatment you should stop breastfeeding.

Interaction with Other Drugs

In experiments conducted on animals, interaction with alcohol has been established, though the simultaneous use of buspirone and alcohol should be avoided. Buspirone metabolizes involving the liver isoenzyme CYP3A4 and apparently can interact with drugs that are inhibitors or inducers of this isoenzyme. You should not assign buspirone with MAO inhibitors because there is risk of hypertensive crisis. Buspar Canadian pharmacy increases concentration of haloperidol in blood serum. While the use of trazodone 3-6 times increased ALT.
